weight vs clothing size
I have lost a little over 90 pounds and have dropped from a 28 sometimes 30 to a 20 in pants. I would love to be in normal size clothes. I can wear an XL shirt as long as I tuck it in and it does not have to go over the hips. Beofre my weight loss I would have guessed that losing almost 100 pounds would put me in that "normal" size, but I am not there yet. For those of you who wear a 14/16, how much do/did you weigh at that size? I am trying to set a short goal for myself to push me along. I know we are all different shapes at the same weight, but I am just looking for a little idea of where I need to get. Thank you for any help you can give. I know I should not focus on a number, I definitely feel soooo much better at a size 20!!!
I probably should add, I started at 317 and now I am at 226.
I probably should add, I started at 317 and now I am at 226. I started at a size 24 at 300 pounds. I'm down to 175 and wear a size 8 top and bottom. I think I was about 200 pounds when I got into a straight size 14...not a plus size 14. There is a difference. I'm very evenly proportioned though. It sounds like you may be heavier on the bottom? If so....you may have to be below that weight. Everyone is different. You should be very proud of yourself. I understand the desire to be in "normal" sizes....but don't make that your focus. Good luck! And keep up the great work!
All depends on height, bone structure, fat distribution. Varies greatly from one person to another. I noticed a poster above said she is 175 and wears an 8. I was 140 before I got into an 8 and I am 5'8" tall. I think I got into 14's when I got below 200 lbs, but don't really remember. The difficult part is when you are hanging in that area where you are getting out of the plus sized clothing but maybe not quite for all styles, and it is so hard to know where to shop for clothing. It takes hours of trying things on to see what fits where.

The whole size/weight thing is individual, and can be frustrating. When I had surgery, I weighed 230 lb. and was a size 22, now I am 148 and a size 10. A friend of mine had the same sugery, she weighs the same as me but is 5 inches shorter, and wears a size 4 jeans! That bugs me, but it is what it is. We are smaller and healthier...that's the important part! Good job on your loss!
at 226 I was in a size 18(on the tight side around the waist but wearable), so just a size smaller than you (using this as a bases for what I weighed when I got into a size 16W). I think I was about 180ish when I bought my size 16W pants, They are to big now and I am now is a Medium to large top depending on the brand (I can get in a size small if they are a loose sweater). I am wearing size 10 pants from Coldwater Creek although these are probably about a size 12/14 at Walmart. So pant size also ranges depending on where you go.
Congrats on your weight loss! Your doing great and will be in those 14/16 sizes before you know it!!

I am 5'8" and currently weigh 175 lbs. I started out at 264. I was a 24/26 depending on cut/fit. On top I now wear a 14/16 or large, occasionally x-large (the girls didn't shrink as much as I had hoped). On bottom I wear mostly 14/16, I think a 12 would fit but snugly. I do not expect that I will ever get into a single digit size unless I have major plastics.

Wanda... you definitely hit the nail on the head. I am right there where you are talking about. Out of plus sizes, but not sure where I am in the misses dept. Most 16's, but very hard to find what fits what parts of our bodies. I definitely have "booty" to deal with. Oh, and "booby" as well. lol Very curvy but frustrating! Oh yeah. I started at 238, was wearing 20s and some 22s. I'm down 43 lbs and most pants are 16s...
