Like chalk
but if you don't chew them and just let them disolve in your mouth like a hard candy it is tolerable
if you bite into them they are terrible.

I like the Bariatric Advantage Choc. Calcium Chews.  Their good with a cup of coffee too (they melt in your mouth).

I use the Bariatric Advantage Chocolate chews in the calcium citrate.  I just received a new order from them and had ordered the lemon ones to try and i absolutely love those.  I know love you vitamin right?  I guess it's like anything else and you get used to it since we have to do it anyway.  Good luck.

I bought the Bariatric Adv. Lemon chewies, and they are OK. They taste just like Starburst until you get down to the end and then you are left with a mouthful of grit from the calcium in them. But I just take a swallow of water to rinse that down and that works good. Other than the gritty ending, they are good. I kind of alternate between them and my horse pills depending on what I am in the mood to choke down.

You might want to try the Celebrate lemon chews.  They are not gritty at all.

Has anyone tried the Upcal chews?  I guess I should have asked before I bought them...LOL

Celebrate has calcium citrate plus that is 500mg per chewable so you only need 3 per day -- which is what sold me -- along wtih the fact I liked the taste better than BA.  They also have lemon calcet creamy bites -- I dont even like lemon and I like these. They are too expensive to take 3x day so I buy the cherry chewables and a box of lemon to keep at work for my lunch dose.

I think some of the chewies on the BA site aren't calcium citrate ...make sure you order the right one if you go that route.

Make sure whatever you are trying is calcium citrate and not calcium carbonate.  I ordered samples from www.vitalady.com before committing to a calcium citrate chew that I liked.  I had a hard time swallowing huge calcium pills, even after cutting them in half.  I personally have opted for chewy's.  I tried Bariatric Advantage lozenges in every flavor-ewwww yuck is all that I can say-very chalky!  I tried Bariatric Advantage chewy bites lemon and chocolate.  Both were not bad.  Chocolate kinda of tastes like a tootsie roll with some grit at the end...lol  The lemon were very good-reminded me of a star burst, also with some grit at the end.  The grit at the end does not bother me though, because the taste of the calcium supplement is good.

Just remember to check the ingredients on any chews you decide to get, the majority sold in stores (walmart, gnc, vitamin shoppe) tend to be the wrong kind of calcium.

Good luck!  :)
