I've just finished up with bronchitis, then a cold. I took Zyrtec (generic, of course), Mucinex for my cough, then Delsym cough syrup (for when it really got bad). I hope you feel better soon.
Poof, there goes another pound

yep, I've been taking zyrtec as well Lisa and it's made a big difference in my constant sneezing issues I was having as well as runny nose and watery eyes after the sneezing fits.

Pretty much anything is fine as long as it's not extended release.  Just look for this as most cold medicine seems to be 12 hr stuff anymore.  Really, you want the 4 hour stuff.

I can't think of any cold medicine that has NSAIDs in it -- most that have pain relievers use tylenol.

Sudafed, NyQuil, Tylenol Cold products, etc all are fine.

Be aware of any liquids as they may have sugar in them.  If you dump easily, there is a line called Diabetic Tussin.  They taste HORRIBLE, but they are sugar free and should be able to be found (wow, that sounds horrible in my head... ) at big chain pharmacies (CVS, Walgreens, etc.) in the diabetic section.

NyQuil will have some alcohol.  Different people react differently to alcohol than others.  Me?  It knocks my ass clean out.  But then again, I'm a real cheap date.  (Also, I'm basing on the old NyQuil.  They sold out and went with the new formulation so they wouldn't have to be behind the counter .. this could have changed some).

Seems I've got it, too! I heard that a nettie pot works wonders for a stuffed up nose. I'm taking robitussin DM for a cough, tylenol, and a nasal decongestant before bed so I can sleep! Hope you feel better, quickly!
