I want to love to excercise...but
I hate exercise with a passion. I do it because I need it to live. Start slow and work you way up. Nobody says you have to go full blown cardio/weigh lifting at first.
I find water aerobics to be wonderful. You don't have as much pressure on you body and it makes it so much easier. Plus you stay cool instead of getting hot.

I love to exercise...because I love to feel strong and have those mini wow moments. I think the key is finding what you love, start slow and work your way up.When I was first cleared to exercise I went to the pool and started swimming laps, very easy on the joints, then I started walking on the treadmill and am now running 2 miles without stopping...I love those moments. Plus lifting weights makes me feel strong...
Good luck in your journey...

I am not a big fan of exercise either, so I WALK and WALK and WALK. I walk miles every day, and I take stairs instead of the elevator. I dance around the house when a good song comes on. I sit at my desk and do leg lifts off and on at work. You don't have to go to a gym to do exercise, just keep moving so the calories keep burning. Ask a neighbor to take their dog for walks. I also have a Wii and challenge my husband to bowling, tennis and rowing. Good Luck to you.
I've never been much for exercise (hello!!!) partly how I got where I was... and I hate working out in the gym, I like doing "real" things. I find I need to mix it up... so here are some of the things I do...
--Wii Fit or Wii EA Sports Active (great for rainy days)
--NIA or Zumba classes
--Water aerobics
--biking and walking, things I can do with friends and ask them to support me by making biking/walking dates
--Dance classes and going to community dances. Ballroom, West Coast Swing, Country/Western. Salsa/ChaCha/Rumba--try them all!

I love to swim laps, water aerobics if the instructor is good; and weights for strength and scupting. As I lose weight I want to go back to Zumba or Jazzercise both of which I love.
I have never really like just walking but I hope that I will be able to walk long distances and be able to walk 18 holes of golf again. Wouldn't mind having one of those carts that go by themselves though. I'll never be able to carry my clubs, bad shoulders.
I always feel so much better on days when I exercise vs days when I don't. Find something that you enjoy. If you don't enjoy it, you won't do it. I hope you find something you can enjoy, whether it is participating in a sport or just taking long walks.
