Hi cnhmom, which brands have you tried??  And are you mixing with foods, making shakes?  :)

I can sympathize that there are some truly horrible protein powders out there...for sure!

Im trying to increase my protein take and love love love ice tea (not nectar) and wanted to add some unflavored to it.  I also wouldnt mind trying to add to foods as well.  THe only two that I have tried are Unjury and the god aweful Beneprotein they gave me in the hospital.  Which by the way I have a butt load of, yet cant stand it.  I had to remind myseff today when I attempted to add to my ice tea why I have sooooo much left. YUCK!

I absolutely sympathize and can't add protein to crystal light or tea, but do make protein smoothies and I 'heart' them sooo much. I have a booklet of recipes if u would like me to email them to u to try. They are amazing!! And I use my unflavored to make them, no odor, no yucky after taste, and lots of protein.

PM me your email if you would like me to email you. (and anyone else can also!)

*hugs*

A couple of years ago I found a generic whey isolate unflavored protein. Only mild odor of evaporated milk, so it's as flavorless as you can find. 70 calories for 18 g of protein, 9g protein per T.  There are many in my support groups who do as I have done--we add this to SF pudding, oatmeal, refried beans, all sort of foods, or make fruit smoothies. It has no brand name and is noted in my blogs on the personal web site noted on my profile page.  38 of the 27 g servings is $20 plus shipping (if needed). DAVE

Our sense of smell effects our taste - you know how food tastes bland when you have a cold.A travel mug or sippy cup will cut out the smell. If you can't smell it it may taste better. It works for me. ETA - I have a friend who is 4 years out and still drinks her shakes this way.

The best unflavored protein I have ever found is Nectar Medical Unflavored. U can get it at GNC or online. It's 20.00 and mixes instantly and thouroughly with all liquids. NO LUMPS. you can put it in anything. I make pudding with it and it's perfect. I am a very picky eater so trust me when I say this one is good.

STOP smelling them! They are all going to smell bad, which will make you not want to drink them. They are whey protein - it just does not smel god no matter what brand it is (unless maybe it has a bunch of sweeteers and flavors to cover the scent, which, obviously isn't the case for the unflavored varieties).

Here's what you need to do:
Open the container AWAY from your face, breath through your MOUTH while you scoop the protein, put the lid back on the container immediately.
Now, I'm not sure what kind of cup you're using for your protein iced tea, but what you ned is a cup with a LID (I always use a Blender Bottle) so that when you take a sip, your nose hits that plastic lid and your mouth is covering the opening so you never SMELL your drink.

I was looking up Unjury for myself and it's pure whey isolate, isn't it? Just try to put in bottles or sippycups, because you might be sensitive to the smell. :/

The one I use now is Any Whey and I got it from bodybuilder.com.  It's good for cooking or hot or cold beverages.  It's been the easiest for me to add and not notice the flavor.
