Adipex anyone????
My PCP prescribed adipex for my six month supervised diet. It has taken me three months to decide to take adipex. I started this week. I lost 4 lbs in two days but it has some side effects.
I am torn about continuing the drug. It is working great to curb my appetite so it is helping me change to a high protein diet needed for wls. Also, it is taking some of my weight off for surgery but I am wondering about dealing with the side effects.
Has anyone taken this drug and was it beneficial in the long run? Thanks!

You would have lost 4 pounds in two days anyway if you had migrated to a high protein diet and cut out the refined carbs......so dont give the drug more credit than it deserves. It's a mixed blessing. Yes it curbs appetite...while you're on it. You can't be on it forever......hence......it's not a long term solution. If it's just about getting your healthier for surgery then it's the kind of short term goal that might make sense. How much weight are you trying to lose for surgery? Have you had your bariatric consult yet? Those things would factor into my decision to take it or not. I'm sure people who have taken it will respond to your post. Susan
