If he is considering raising his prices so people do not want the band, why doesn't he consider not offering the band? I know you don't speak for him, so I'm asking more of a general question. No idea. I can only guess that there are those people that insist that the band is the safest (and how uneducated they are in WLS!) so he does the surgery type they wish.
I wish he didn't do them at all.

I love my doc... and his people. I am not sure how would I function today if they were not there to support me when I needed.
Did I say I love my doc? of course in a very, very professional way...

So far, I've only had a consult with my surgeon, and that went well enough.
Having a problem with the staff though. Several months ago I sent an email and called my patient care advocate and she never responded. Last week, I sent her an email with my new insurance info and some other documents, and didn't get a response. I finally called her this morning, no response yet. It doesn't feel very encouraging.

Next time you email, cc your surgeon. You won't believe how fast the staff will respond when they know their boss got the email too.

i love my surgeon. When i saw that Vanderbilt was on the list of hospitals, I knew instantly that was for me. They are one of the top hospitals in the country and you dont get that recognition by hiring substandard doctors. I have 5 or 6 numbers to nurses, assitants, NP, nutritionists and his secretary. Quality is important.
