DOES THIS HAPPEN TO ANYONE???

Ever since I had RNY surgery 5 years ago and after finishing a meal, I feel full, my nose starts to feel stuffy and I sneeze, I don't over eat at all, it's just something that happens, my family always know when I have had enough to eat because of my sneezing, it's kind of funny though but I wondered if this has happened to anyone else after surgery.

Thanks

If I eat more than I should, I get a stuffy/runny nose. It is definitely weird.

Not to me.  The only thing that used to happen to me was getting the hiccups if I ate too quickly and a gurgling noise in my chest when I had enough to eat.

Yes its reported frequently. I've read its related to the vagus nerve but have never asked a bariatric surgeon. Susan

My surgeon calls it a "soft stop" mine is hiccups.  It rarely happens now because I kinda know when to stop.  When I hiccup that is when I know I am full.  I usually don't FEEL how full I am until several minutes after the hiccup.  I ALWAYS stop at the hiccup because I hate the really full feeling.  :)

In our group we talked about things like this.  Stuffy noses, sneezing, burping of course and quite a few runny noses too!

OMG Thank you for posting this, we should eat out together sometime because the same thing happens to me!  My family knows when I start sneezing my kids will say "Mom must me full and start laughing".  It's been 7 yrs now so Im used to it, and my family, friends and co workers all know.  I will warn them sometimes, I know I'm going to start sneezing (I can feel it coming) and tell them just ignore me.  I always feel bad when people don't know and start saying "Bless you" and I sneeze like 20 times hahaha.  It doesn't happen everyday but if I eat quickly or when I get full I start up.  Anyway I've been told by many people here that I am lucky to have a full signal but it's annoying sometimes but I'm here to tell you that your not alone

This was just like reading about myself, a total clone of what I go through and how my hubby and kids also laugh,  I guess it's quite funny in a way.
