Possible Complication?!

  I had a bowel movement today and it wasnt large, or painful. Afterwards, the toilet was filled with red blood. You couldnt see the bottom of the bowl or anything. Waiting for the DR to call to see if i need to go to the ER....any advice or anyone experience this?

Just go, don't wait for a call.  When did you have surgery?

Very possible it is hemorrhoids but I'm glad you called your doctor.

How long ago was your surgery?  I had a post op bleed that presented as large amounts of bright red bloody diarrhea, ended up in the hospital for 3 days and needing a platelet infusion.  Since it followed a lg and painful BM it is probably a hemorrhoid or a small tear in your rectum, but you should have it checked out one way or the other....

I believe she said it wasn't large or painful. :)  I had something similar to you happen to me before...she should immediately go the ER!

That amount of bleeding is an emergency situation. DO NOT wait for the doctor. When he calls you back, let him know what is going on. But get to the ER now.
