Hi everyone - can anyone tell me if pea soup is bad for u during the pre-op full liquid diet?

Depends. Are you on clear fluids or full liquids? If it's full liquids, I don't see a problem with it. The best person to ask would be your surgeon and/or the dietician where you are having your surgery.

Thanks for responding. I am on full liquids. Someone else told me the pea soup is too high on carbs and would prevent my body from being in ketosis which would prevent my liver from shrinking and could screw up my chances for laproscopic surgery.

They make a good point. On the other hand, I noticed that you answered someone about their surgery tomorrow and remembered that you're having yours on Tuesday. I don't know if it would be a problem at this late stage. I'm not sure. I would talk to your surgeon anyway.
