I am  6 mths out sleeve surgery. I am still having issues with eating as far as stomach feeling "funny" not able to eat very much...I am talking 1/2 of a 1/2 chicken patty 4 fries, and I am finding myself having more headaches. It appears that I don't get headaches as long as I eat yogurt, protein bars, shakes... I don't know what to think... will this to pass????????? My friend asked me if, I would recommend the surgery...I really don't think I would, seriously.  I am losing my hair. My dr. says I have to drink the water. It is hard when your tummy feels okay untilI I eat or drink something... and to top it all off I haven't lost any weight in 2 weeks................... wow,,,,,,,,,,,,

sweetie I had open rny but plenty of complications to go along with it. But heres some advise  hair loss happens after surgery usually 3 months out due to the anthesia...(i spelled it wrong) and low protein. hair grows in a 3 month cycle so in other words how low your protein was 3 months ago is going to determine how your hair  grows now. PLEASE staay away from the fries  unless your program says you can have them. As for drinking water if you drink it to fast its gonna bother you so sip sip sip...maybe the water you are drinking has more minerals in it..switch to bottle for awhile. But drinking the required amount will aid you in weight loss. Some folks have trouble eatting chicken..its stringy. I wasnt one of those folks..thank GOD .  Both issues go hand in hand not enough water and not enough protein...slow weight loss. Beleive me its rough after your honey moon period to lose that weight  good luck to yeah
being healthy has its rewards....take the challenge and just do it

Right On, Sista.... now you pay attention little lady....no nothing fried for Quite a while.  Nothin wrong with shakes and such that's what they are for.....  and sip, sip, sip  and eat v e r y slowly.  Give food a chance to digest in your new tummy!

Now on a different note...I am approaching my surgery, but I am as well educated as if I was in a 6-week class.  Get on the Internet...look up any and everything you can ...it is all there if you look....thank you 2 ladies for letting me go on...SBV

Here is my take on your note.... I had surgery 17+ years ago, a multiple dicipline approach... if you want to know about it just read my post history...
For the hair loss use the Zinc losenge, cold eze  use daily for three days then  3 times a week. you should see a stop in the hair loss after the first week. ...even if you are taking a tablet already.this is what my surgeon told me and my Mom to do...
for your other problems, I think you need to have the sleeve checked.... the surgery I had was much different, but did include a pouching and eating small amounts.
You can eat too many calories for your system with  bars , shakes and ect. Just make sure you keep the carb count low and the protein count high....go by your Doc's recommendations.  to get back on track with wt loss, hold a low count for three days then raise it for   one day, and bounce it around a bit so your body can't lock into to the starvation mode.
Is the headaches caused by some food additive, such as asparatine or  MSG?, both have a history of  causing them.   To keep from discouraging your friend from seeking  help....
Tell your friend that she should do her own research on a weight loss option that you chose the one you researched, and each surgery has pro's and con's.

You aren't really supposed to be able to eat very much, even at 6 months out. Heck, I am closer to 3 years out and I can't finish a whole burger... As for feeling off, you HAVE to get your protein and your liquids in, or you will not start to feel better. You don't sound like you are getting nearly enough nutrition in- especially if what you do get down is fries and such. I really hope you feel better soon. The surgery only made your tummy tiny.. Now you have to start taking care of you.

I am still loving life with my sleeve! Been maintaining at or below goal for over 4 years!

When you're up to your ass in alligators, it's difficult to remind yourself that your initial objective was to drain the swamp!

If it feels good, do it!  And if it smells good, eat it!

I can't handle all that much more chicken protein than you and I am over 2 years out and I still dont eat fries.   Also I found VERY early out that if I did not get enough fluids I got horrible headaches.  It seems that you are still very early out. I took adding new food to my diet very slow and it worked well for me. Maybe try going back to your basics and add things slowly. As for not loosing for two weeks I know it doesnt feel like it but two weeks is not a long time to be a stall. Maybe up your protein or switch up your exercise.  I wish you the very best figuring out what works for you. I

You need to be eating to nourish yourself, not for taste. Fries have no place in that picture when you cannot get in enough protein to save yourself.

Get lab work done to find out if you are okay in your various micronutrients. What kind of supplements are you taking? How much protein are you getting in per day? How many ounces of fluids?

You MUST consume around 80 grams of protein per day and at LEAST 64 oz. of fluids as a bare minimum. If you can't consume that much protein (which amounts to about 11 oz. of meat, chicken/other fowl, fish and/or cheese), you need to be using protein supplements to make up the difference.

You got your stomach reduced to the size of, oh, a pen or so. You're going to have to WORK to get in enough nutrition to avoid getting malnutrition. You need a food plan and you need supplements. Time to get on track here.
