Anyone having surgery in Mexico in January 2012 w/ Dr. Almanza
Revision on 01/11/12
I am having surgery in TJ, Mexico on January 11, 2012 with Dr. Almanza. I was wondering if anyone else would be going at this same time?

Yeah, this is a really bad idea. I'm sure more people will be along to share their stories but if you value your life more than the money you'll save by going to him, it's not a good idea. Lots of people with serious infections, people not getting the surgery they had signed up for, staff that is unqualified and unhygenic, etc, etc. Plus TJ is just not safe right now. I'll let others with direct experience share their stories though.
She's been asking versions of this question for a little bit.

No matter how many times you ask this, that is still one of the scariest clinicas on earth you can pick.
If you want to go to a group that practices in a clinica in a strip mall, and one of the "surgeons" is actually just the owner, not a surgeon at all, and you haven't spent any effort to look back at some of the truly horrifying accounts from others who have gone there, then go, but quit wasting everyones time asking (and not listening to) by asking about that terrible place over, and over.

Bearmom, I apologize for tagging on to your post, but she's blocked me, and I did want to 'splain (to the people who haven't blockes me) that I wasn't stalking her, since she kind of hinted at that.

I took the time to give you a thoughtful, detailed reply on the other post, and that is the reason I remembered it. Trust me, I'm not following you around.
It saddens me that you've gotten really good advice concerning adding malabsorption to restriction, and you choose to ignore it. No one who's gotten a DS is getting any credit for selling anything, but we do know how much better odds a morbidly obese person has of getting to goal AND STAYING THERE, when the malabsorption is a part of their surgery. We've all been where you are right now.
It also saddens me that you seem to be turning a deaf ear to the warnings about the surgeon you've chosen, and, presumably, already handed money to. You might want to consider kissing that money goodbye, and shopping for a surgeon with a better reputation. Your life is worth losing a deposit.
I won't be bothering you anymore.
Thank You.

I wish you the best, but, it is a mistake to go to that doctor.
