I'm 2+ years post RNY. I am scheduled for a lap assisted ERCP. Can anyone tell me about this surgery and the recovery.
Thanks.

Thanks for the info. Have you had this surgery?

No.  I had my gallbladder out, but did not have an obstucted duct or retained stone, therefore did not need the ERCP.

I had this done at the end of november. I am just shy of 2 years out when I had my GB attack. I went in to the ER on sunday and had surgery on friday. They found that I had a blocked duct. I had mine done lapo. I had 5 incisions simular to that of the RNY. It was scheduled for outpatient surgery. It really wasent that bad. I had to stay overnight because the removal of the blockage caused a massive bleed. Once I was able to get up the next day and void I was able to leave. Recovory was alot easier then the RNY. I was given pain killers to go home on. I could not drive for 2 weeks and could not lift heavy things for 6 weeks. Now I am fine I just have to go in for liver enzyme tests. I hope this helps.

Thank you so much. Did you have to have a g-tube for the weeks after. My dr told me I'd have a g-tube for 4-6 weeks.I feel anxious about that.
I'm glad to hear it was not a difficult procedure. That relieves my mind.
