Relax....you took mega laxatives right before and you haven't eaten anything since....It will take a few days...

It's been almost 2 years now, so I don't remember when I had mine. What I do remember though, is worrying about everything. Relax. Everything usually works out. No pun intended. :-)

Too much info? Hell, no. We've all been there. If you're not feeling all "bunged up" in there yet, you're fine. If you're not eating anything remotely solid yet, there is nothing to form poop yet.

And I, on the other hand, has nothing but "the runs" for the first 5 days.

Took me 16 days. The doctor said it was okay. I've only had one since surgery on the 9th.

If you are on a liquid diet then you are not eating anything that would produce a bowel movement.
So right now it is liquid in liquid out.

My daughter lived on a liquid..."mother's milk"...and ONLY "mother's milk"...for a year.  Yet she pooped quite regularly.

I remember being very concerned about not having bowel movements enough. For the first month (1 week of liquids and 3 weeks of soft foods) I think I may have had a total of 4 bowel movements....maybe.  My Dr said its very normal and once I started eating "regular" food, I finally started having regular bowel movements.  i did take colace, per my dr's OK but stopped once I started eating normal foods again. Congrats on your surgery!!
