What does your surgeon's meal plan say?  I was not supposed to have salad until I was at least six weeks out.

That said, you are an adult and you get to make your own decisions.  You don't have to follow your doc's plan if you don't want to.  I think most people here will tell you that you should, but it's up to you.

Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR.  If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor.  Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me.  If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her.    Check out my blog.

It's never ok to go off plan, no matter what you hear from other people on a message board. Don't start testing the waters this early out, it's going to lead to very negative things in the future.

Show that salad and that craving who is boss, you got this!

You don't have to stay on plan - but you do have to live with the consequences of not staying on the plan.

If I'd had it at 2 weeks out, that would've left me writhing in pain.

I'm 4 weeks out and have had salad with no problem.  Last week, I had some grape tomatoes.  My NUT told me it's safe to try new things after 3 weeks.  She said your brain and pouch are connected and that if something looks/sounds good, try a bite, wait a minute, and try another (meaning healthy foods, obviously not stuff like cake and junk!).

I know what you mean about craving salad, I really missed it!
