I feel so miserable like I can't even move so I was wondering do you keep up your excersize program while on your cycle? I wonder also if if would help with the cramps?..

I exercise everyday, regardless of my cycle.  I find the exercise endorphins help with any cramps.

I exercise regardless of my cycle too.

But then I had a race where my menses arrived that morning and it was an 8 hour race. As soon as it was over, I looked into getting the Mirena IUD so I wouldn't have menses any more.

It depends on my cycle. Some days, I have cramps so bad, that pain meds just takes the edge off. On days like those no. I've done it twice and both times I regretted it. On the other days when I'm just bleeding, I exercise.

Heck NO  I don't exercise, most of the time the first 3 days of my period are spent with horrible cramps, nausea and diarrhea. I have awful periods and they have been that way since I first started menstruating. The only time I remember not having cramps was my very first period!

It is not going to kill you to miss a day or so.  Normally by Day 5 I can do a light workout, I normally walk or jog a little. Then by Day 6 I am back to normal. Notice I have a 7-8 day period.  I thought losing weight would help, but things are just worse for me since I cant take Aleve.

Oh well....take it easy and rest.

Are you on the pill?  If not why not, because what you describe is a nightmare and the pill usually fixes all those long periods and heavy bleeding.

No I am not on the pill, I took it for about 10 years and it didn't do anything to help. And after surgery I never went back on any birth control because I am terrified of gaining weight.
