I'm in the lucky 15% of WLS people who has this. Does anyone else? Anyone have any advice? It happens when I eat something high in sugar or something too white but it also happens if my meal is sometimes too big. I've been struggling with it since 2006 and still can't find a reliable pattern or a difinative this but not this answer.

Don't eat foods high in sugar!

Don't eat carbs without protein

Don't treat crashes with sugar/glucose/juice - carb with fat and protein works in preventing a spike/crash cycle but prevention is way better than cure!

Honestly, for most of us, if you follow the prescribed RNY diet and lifestyle (protein first meals and snacks) it will all but disappear.   The reason most of us get it is because we indulge in white processed carbs.

ETA:  If you do a search on the RNY board, you will get a gazillion threads on the subject - it is VERY common!

I am with Kim on that. Follow a strict RNY diet - protein first, then veggies then some fat and maybe - just maybe - some other carbs... Also - make sure you do not overeat. Small meals - every 2-3 hrs should help.

I dealt with severe RH but since I really clean my diet and remove all sugars and most starchy carbs - I am doing much better.  BTW: plain milk or yogurt has more carbs -sugars than proteins so it is more like carbs than protein drink.

It's carbs. Sugar plus carbs.

Send me your email and I'll send you some info in email.
