Update at 13 months
In the start of this process my life was completely different.
What a change in attitude, ability, and especially self worth.
My body seems to be in a stall period right now, I lost 1 pound for the month and the frustration has set in. I stair step up and down with a 3 pound swing and that can drive me crazy. So for all purposes I am registering my weight loss at a pound for the month for record keeping,
I went and saw my surgeon, Dr Hanna and he is very pleased with my progress, since seeing him for consultation I am down a total of 160 pounds and my life has changed so very much. I can walk, breathe and enjoy being up and around. My health has improved significantly off my diabeties meds, reduced dose for thyroid, lower blood pressures etc. My greatest pleasures are walking and feeling so much better about myself. My neuropathy has resurfaced again and this is causing difficulty with sleeping due to the intense pain in my hands. This can be a permanent effect from the past health issues and then without sleeping through the night can prohibit my weight loss according to Dr Hanna. Trying neurontin and benadryl to see if I can get some relief. and sleep better.
Biggest news is Dr Hanna wants my story and before and after pictures in his advertising and Las Vegas Bariatrics magazine... that is shocking to me....my story and pictures!!! Wow what a shock.....They took 3 pictures of me with his (my) nutritionist Joey, on my last visit this week. So shortly I will be published....whoever would have told me this at the start of this journey I would of said no way....no flipping way!!! But this is true. I still would like to lose 19 pounds....but can accept me the way I am...Joey my NUT told me I don't have 19 pounds to lose so that has made this stall so much better!!! She actually started crying when she saw me for the first time in about 6 months...she was startled and shocked with my appearance! I was proud of my accomplishments!!!
For those just starting out, this is an incredible journey, hard work and it does take effort but so worth it!! Best of luck to all!
I certainly will, according to your ticker we are only 4 pounds difference in our quest. I started out at 326 and here it is I am currently 164....it is an amazing ride and you will have many happy surprises along the way. Good luck Amanda!
