Eating every 2-3 hours

Ok I'm 14.5 months post op & wondering what everyone eats when they eat every 2-3 hours of the day. I eat pretty much every 2-2.5 hours when I'm at work because that's just the way my schedule works out, but then at night it's like I still want to snack & I really shouldn't because it makes my calorie intake high.  I feel like I'm constantly eating which I am every 2-3 hours. I hate having to think about food this much. Before surgery I didn't eat often, but when I ate I ate a lot & very non healthy foods. I want to keep my metabolism going throughout the day & not let my blood sugar drop so I stick with eating every couple hours. Just curious what some of you all's eat when you eat every couple hours. Right now I'm getting between 1300-1500 calories most days & have gone as high as 2000 usually I find those days when I workout really hard. Here is a sample of my menu:

4:30 am Breakfast: 8 oz Mint Cookie protein shake

5-6:30ish at the gym

7:15 am Either another 8oz protein shake or 2 pouched eggs

10:00-10:30ish Weigh****cher's Jalapeno string cheese with a sliced apple or 2 cuties

12:30 pm 1/2 a multigrain w/flax flatout, 1 slice of ham deli meat, 1 slice of cheese & a peach cup in light syrup

3:00 pm WW string cheese with a fruit of some sort

6:00 pm 4 oz of whatever meat I cook that night & if I can fit it in a small salad

8:00 pm Sugar Free Klondike Icecream bar or SF Raspberry Jello

& sometimes I will have 1/4c of trail mix or almonds before bed

Am I eating too much fruit? I keep wondering. Like I said I really hate having to think this much about food. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I'm 8 months out today and eat, during the workday, every 2 3/4-3 hours:

6:30am: Greek yogurt, fiber one cereal (about an ounce)

7:30 hot tea or protein drink

10:45 1/2 apple with PB, or a protein bar

12:45 lunch - 1/2 roast beef sandwich or 2 oz of tuna salad or 2 oz of leftover chicken from the night before with some carrots or fruit

3:45-4pm protein bar or peanuts

6:30 dinner - chicken or steak or shrimp or whatever

8.30-9pm SF cookie or a pretzel or peanuts

Thanks for a sample of your menu. It helps me see what other's are doing & where I can make changes. I definitely eat more than you do at a time & I guess that I need to cut that down & cut down on the fruit & do more veggies. Thanks again for your response it is appreciated.

In between meals, I think fruits or raw vegetables are a good option. even soups maybe, but I don't have soups

fruits by itself may be just plain carbs - not really good choice for some of us... IMO. making sure that there are proteins at every meal or snack may make a difference.

What is your goal? Are you still losing or are you trying to maintain? What is your body doing when you eat like this? If your goal is to lose and you are still losing, great. If you want to lose but are not while eating this much, cut back. What works for me may not work for you. We are all different. I learned by trial and error.
