Great pre-op surgeon visit! Waiting for approval

Paperwork is all submitted just waiting for approval now. Surgeon is very happy with my pre surgical weight loss, he said I will do fabulous with the sleeve. Can't wait to get my date...move over and make some room on the loser bench!

The Sleeve is a great surgery---IF you don't have any metabolic issues. But given your BMI, you really need to research the full DS (duodenal switch). I'm afraid that the Sleeve won't give you the long-term results you're looking for.

The DS has the same stomach as the Sleeve, plus an intestinal bypass similar to, but more effective than, that of the RNY. The DS has the very best long-term, maintained weight-loss stats for patients of any size, but especially so for those of us with a BMI greater than 50. It gives life-long metabolic changes that make maintaining our weight loss SO much easier.
