Look into the bullet, it's a great little blender. Kohl's has 20% off going on now and you can also get it at Bed Bath and Beyond using their coupon.

I purchased the Blendtec blender from Costco. You can also find it online through their website. The cost is $400 but well worth it IF you will be using it. Prior to surgery I would make a fruit smoothie every morning. Post-op, I have not used it since but do intend on using it once now that I am on puree. I just entered this phase yesterday. The nice thing about the Blendtec is that you can also make soups along with many other things, but the blender is so powerful that the soup is hot after you blend it.

For purees I used a mini food processor, specifically this one:

I am not sure a blender would have worked as well, especially if you are making small quantities.
Now I do have a blender to make protein shakes, and I love it a lot, but that's a topic for another post!
