Did I just have a baby or have a VSG?
Haha. Your household must be really, um, festive.

Well, it helped that neither of us took it personally cause we BOTH knew it would happen.
Duodenal Switch (Lap) 01-24-11 | Surgeon: Stephen Boyce | High weight: 250 in 2002 | Surgery weight: 203 | Lowest weight: 121 | Current weight: 135 | Goal weight: 135
I can see how that would definitely help. I've warned my family that I might be a horrible person for the next 6 months (I'll keep the 2 years thing to myself for now) and have asked them to cut me extra slack. Hopefully I'll still have a family by the time I'm finished ;)

Laurie, yes we did. AND both of us are lightweights. My pre-op BMI was 35.2, his was 38.something. He was 3 years out on Dec 16th, I was three years out on Jan 24th...the time between Dec 16th and about Aug were rough in the hormone department. We both reached goal within a month of each other.

2 years? SWEET! Does that mean I get free rein to act like a jackass for the next 2 years and chalk it up to hormones?
...I mean, I'm ALWAYS a jackass, but, hey, if I can float that excuse for 2 years, I'll take it. "I punched you because I'm a hormonal lunatic and my emotions are out of control." ***PUNCH*** "See? There it went again! Hormones, man!"
Just kidding. Actually all my friends say they haven't noticed any increase in my jackassery and I've actually been much more mellow since the surgery.

I am 10 weeks post-RNY and the random rage and sadness that I would occasionally get (mostly road rage and loneliness because I'm no long going out and drinking and socializing like before) have mostly subsided :) I have replaced driving with walking and replaced drinking/eating with working out - and I'm just feeling great, and I think that's why. I promise it will get better but YES the first few weeks are tough. Go search the VSG board for a funny post yesterday by a guy named Michael who posted about being a man and being hormonal. It totally rang true for me! Good luck!
If it helps any, I've always been sensitive to the active ingredient in Sudafed. I have to scour the shelves looking for decongestants without it (yes! There are some!). It always gave me rapid heart rate and anxiety. The first big time it happened, I went to the Drs office - when the assistant walked in, I freaked out and said I refused to speak to anyone but my doctor! And this was long before surgery. Some people are just more sensitive.
