I'm devastated. After completing what I thought were all the UHC requirements, I was just told I need 5 prior years of morbid obesity. I have RNY in 2004. Went from 305 to 165. Approx. 2-3 years ago I began the weight gain yo-yo. Averaging 185 ish.  I  now up to 212 and only 5 ft. Due to Osteoporosis. I have suspected Barrett's Esophagus, severe Reflux and just the past year high blood pressure and high blood pressure and high cholesterol but not on meds yet. Very long story just to say I will probably be denied for revision surgery. Just DEVASTATED!!! So So Sad.

Wow, that's a "requirement" I've never heard of before.  Sorry things are not working out well for you.

BCBS required 5 years' documented MO for my sleeve, so not totally unheard of, I guess.

Have you been to the doctor at all in five years where your weight was recorded?

I know BCBS does require the 5 year thing if that is what you have. If you don't want to wait have you considered going to Mexico for surgery?
