One week out-
Is it ok not to sleep on your back? When can I bend over to pick up stuff I've dropped? Stupid questions but I know I'll get great answers! Thanks!
I normally sleep on my side, but after surgery, I found it most comfortable to sleep on my back propped up by some pillows. As for bending over, just don't do it until you are told you may. I was using my knees to squat, not bend over, & I pulled an abdominal muscle. It was excruciatingly painful, & I passed out & hit my head off the door trying to get back to my bed. It took two weeks to heal the muscle pull. I suggest one of those grabber tools to pick up things. I started using one after the injury, & it worked well.
The nurse told me today to bend from my knees to bend down. That is a good indication she has never been overweight. I told my husband that after doing that a few times, if I can do It at all, my knees would start protesting from lifting my weight up from a knee bend. Then my knees would get painful so on and so forth. I'll get a grabber.
Hey I bend over all the time to pick up stuff.. I don't feel like I had surgery.. My walks are getting easier... I think if u can do it try if not ur husband has to do it..
When was your surgery. Mine was the 6th. I am like you I forget I had surgery. I have to pick things up! Can't help myself. Glad you're doing we'll too!
My surgery was the 7th.. I was out the hospital 2days later.. Thanks same too u.. I need to lost 50lbs by oct.. Trying to go to Vegas
I should have stayed in 2 days but came home after 1. Was kind of a nightmare. Drugstore didn't have my pain meds but finally got settled in. Good luck with your goal. I have lost a little over 6 lbs since surgery. What have you lost?
