Question about a specific doctor

I was looking into doctors in my general area and one has a stipulation that I HAVE to have a sleep apnea test and use a cpap prior to surgery.  Something about making sure all my organs and skin, etc., are oxygenated enough for surgery to reduce risk of infection or problems. Can anyone respond to this?  Am I allowed to inquire about specific doctors and their practices on this site?

I had a sleep study when I started the 6 month pre-op program.  My doctor was very adamant about treating my sleep apnea with a CPAP before the surgery.   I asked why it was so important and the sleep doctor said they wanted me in the best possible health for the surgery.

The good news was that CPAP machines seem to be AMAZINGLY better now days.  I had one about 8 years ago and had to stop using it.  My new one (I think its a Bi-PAP) is great - I love going to sleep with it  - its very relaxing.
