Did anyone have atrial fibrillation or atrial flutter before WLS?

I have a slight atrial flutter that I a may or may not have corrected.  I have tried twice, and the second ablation actually made the problem worse.

I was wondering if there are others who have had this prior to WLS?  Did it affect your WLS?  Did your surgeon take any additional precautions?

Yes. Mine is paroxysmal, that is, it is not constant but I have had episodes of AF.  In fact I have not had one since surgery 8 years ago which may be weight related but may just be coincidence!

at the time of surgery, the only difference it made to my treatment (to my knowledge, they may have done things a bit different during the anaesthetic but I don't think so) was that a High Dependency Bed (one step up from an "ordinary" bed, less than an Intensive Care Bed) was ready just in case I needed it after surgery. I didn't!

The terminology about beds may be different UK /US but you get the idea!

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,
