I have joined a WLS group and next week will be the first meeting. Needless to say I am a bit nervous, never done group before and I am still working on my people skills but OH has helped me out already and i believe this will as well.

thanks for letting me vent a little nervousness.

Studies reveal that people who participate regularly in groups maintain a better weightloss long term than those who don't.

Good for you for taking that step.

It is great that you're going to a support group.  I've been a support group leader for years and can assure you that everyone is nervous when they go to their first meeting.

Keep going to the meetings.  You're going to give yourself a greater opportunity to stay on track.  People with regular attendance are more apt to stay on track.

YEA YOU!

I've been attending the WLS support group and I love it. Most of the times I just sit and listen and take in all the advise and suggestions. Its filled with tons of WLS information. I finally got the nerve to ask a question and now its much easier talking.

So you're not only attending the group but participating by asking a question??  That's great.  Having that support system with the support group leader and other members matters a lot and will really make a difference in your healthy lifestyle long-term.
