Everything tastes salty

hi I am exactly one week post op and drinking my fluids. However all I can tolerate is water. Everything else tastes like sal****er to me!!!! My water and protein drinks are the only drinks that I can tolerate. Is this normal for everything to taste salty?

For some reason most people notice a change in taste after surgery. For some it lasts forever and others just for awhile and then goes back to normal. Sometimes changing the temperature helps getting things down. As long as you are able to ge****er and your protein down that's all that really matters. You'll be adding more foods in shortly so just concentrate on your water and protein.

yes - my first few days out of surgery, salty things tasted saltier and sweet things tasted sweeter.  Even cottage cheese tasted like a salt cube!  I still can't tolerate many sweet things, but the salty thing eventually went away.
