When was your surgery - I don't see a date in your tagline.   I just walked for while - you still have to be careful of your joints, as you say.

I did not jump in when my dr cleared me - I just worked on increasing my mobility and speed (walk, walk, walk faster, walk even faster, gentle stretches, etc.)  and then started weight training at 12 weeks out and later added the classes and worked up to long hikes.

My surgery was November 23rd. I feel great but I'm afraid of overdoing it and hurting myself. I used to do zumba at this weight and just didn't jump but did all the other movements. I am in good shape other than being fat lol

Since you just had surgery Nov 23rd I would recommend that you start slowly. Walk for a while, maybe use the elliptical at the gym. Gradually build yourself up to doing the classes. Good luck!

Thank you! The elliptical is a good idea because its easier on my knees. Plus its cold out so I don't want to walk outside... I'm a baby lol

As dear Dr. Nike says, just Do It! Anything is better than the couch. Just do it, one painful mind resisting day at a time. Yes, you can and must!

That's the way that most people start. Try  to ramp it up slowly. I have a fitbit that I love for making sure my activity stays where I want it.

I have a jawbone but I haven't been wearing it. Maybe if I start to wear it again it will push me to do more. Thanks for the encouragement.

Just do it! Your life and wellbeing depend on it! Figure out what works for you, and then just do it!
