..I maintained my 100 lb weight loss for 8 1/2  long years gaining 5 lbs here and there and managed to take it back off, then my knees  and Hernia hurt like heck so I stopped exercising for 3 months and went off my new healthy food regime and gained 20 lbs. got ahold of myself and have takin 10 of that 20 lbs back off. im not exercising much other than house cleaning and still riding horse. so I am standing still on any more weight loss on my own for now. Spring is in the air and thinking of getting outdoors and walking 3 miles everyday.. Now 8 1/2 years post Op I can almost eat as much as I did pre op.

I experienced what I call a mini stroke last week. Never got checked for it.. Well just wanted to check in and say HI to everyone that still remembers me. good luck to all the newbies. PeaceV...Wendy

Are you saying you did not go to the doctor even after thinking you had a stroke? There is so much that can be done to help prevent additional strokes. If you truly did have a stroke, you are at a much higher risk of having another one and the next time could be severe. Perhaps your heart issues are related to this. A friend of mine just had one that was due to a hole in her heart. It caused a blood clot to go through her heart up to her brain and caused her stroke. If you have not already contacted your doctor, I hope you do so.

Do not take a possible stroke lightly, please. It is very serious.

Hard to fathom not going to the hospital or your doctor if you thought you had a "mini stroke" -- strokes can be very serious, not to be taken lightly.  It makes good sense to seek medical attention, I hope you follow up.

Sorry if I'm reading this wrong but you seem to post about your stroke as an afterthought to your main post of keeping off your weight. I hope you're not as flippant to any other medical conditions you might have. Flipping off strokes, even mini ones will put you in grave or seriously sick/disabled for the rest of your life. Not something to brush off so casually in my opinion.

We are sorry to hear about the health issues you are going through.  That being said, sounds like you have done an amazing job, stay the course

As everyone said, stay on top of the aftermath of a stroke.  My husband had one 5 years ago and it was down hill from there and now I have lost him

We hope to hear from you often, don't be a stranger
