I'm going to get a diamond ring for my Birthday June 28th  (will be 59) from Boyfriend of 6 years. I was wondering has anyone used wearing a ring as a "To Be Accountable" for maintaining weight loss? In over 8 years I have never read here this to be about someones weight loss journey maintained.. Did everyone stop wearing rings if you wore them pre weight loss?. I wore a size 9 ring before weight loss . I now wear a size 6 1/2 ~7 ring.If I were to gain weight I would not be able to wear a gorgeous ring. Im doing better these days. Its actually a small diamond.

Have a safe Memorial day..PeaceV.....Wendy

Nope. We can gain 10-20-30 lbs without noticing the ring change.  Unless you already have fat fingers. Plus if you never take it off to put back on - the fat will grow around it.

My issues with my righ size are my knuckles. It takes a lot of weight gain to gain so much fat to fill the fingers and the kknuckles.

I've only lost one ring size with my weight loss... because smaller ones can't get over my knuckles....

My fingers don't change much with weight gain/loss. I wore my wedding rings through 2 pregnancies. I'm also much heavier now than I was when I got you second wedding ring.

i think that's what you're asking...

I agree with Hala!   I wore a size 7-9 preop.  After I lost 165 lbs I wore a size 5.  I have experienced regain in the last two years and I am still wearing my size 5 ring.   I do feel that it gets tighter from time to time, but not to where I cannot wear it.

My wedding set is super large now- I don't worry about it falling off- but when I'm to goal i will have it reduced in size.

It might work for you.

None of those ideas worked for me before WLS -I just got the rings resized or didn't wear them. I know have rings from 5.5 to 8.

WLS changes things so that you might not need as much motivation, and the desire to wear the rings comfortably, might be all that you need.

If you put the ring on now, you could still gain weight and wear it if you never took it off. (I was 185lb when I got married, and my ring was fine at 285lb, I couldn't take it off but it didn't hurt anything staying there.)

I was standing next to a woman on line years ago. I saw she had on a beautiful bracelet and it said "Through Thick and Thin" on it. I just blurted out and asked her if she had had GBS. She said yes, and I told her I did too. We ended up having a nice conversation. Her girlfriend had given that braclet to her.

Enjoy your BDay!
