Hair Loss -- Wig

Before I had my surgery, my hair was already thin (thanks Dad!).  Post-Op, it started falling out like crazy.  Finally couldn't take it any longer and bought myself a wig a month or so ago.  I love the look, but have problems wearing it all day--I've got to really pin it in place and I end up with a headache ... I seem to have a fat head and the wig would pop off if I didn't have about a dozen bobby pins holding it down.  Now I've added fake "Bangs" but I have to wear a hairband to cover the pins.  I've also ordered a "Caplet" which (I think) you just put on top of your hair to add volume--you don't tuck your own hair under a stocking cap.  Luckily, I've been able to match my hair color very well.

My hair is thin and very curly. If I don't do things there is no "do". It's scary Aunt Mabel hair. I'm tempted to chop it all off.

I shaved my head 6 weeks post-op and have kept it super short ever since.  It's so easy!

Mary, it sounds like a daunting challenge. You do look fabulous in your pictures

My hair is thicker now than it's ever been and naturally curly. My hairdresser says women would kill for my hair. All I want to do is get it off my face. It drives me nuts!

You do have some gorgeous locks, m'dear!

Hello --  Where did you purchase your wig and bangs from?  Godiva Secret wigs?  I just purchased my third one from them.  This one will be my summer look - if I can hold off from wearing it til then.  Purchased it now - as when you have a birthday - Godiva gives you 25% off any wig purchases (have 30 days to use it) Just received it last week --- its the KELLY wig in the Mochacino color!  There wig quality is unbelievable.  They even just created MEN's wigs!  I started out with the 'topper - hair piece wig" in August - these have 4 clips... but with daily wearing I found the front hairs ' breaking away' per se due to same clipping area. Went to the full wig after Thanksgiving.... not sure if I will ever stop wearing wigs now.  Godiva wigs are so comfortable to wear and totally look like real wear.  Ha - my consult with a plastic surgeon couldn't believe I had a wig on - commenting later - is that really a wig.  (I had to mention it to him as he was showing me in the mirror about how a face lift would be for me - saying be careful I have a wig on ....

As a former hair stylist I can admit to owning BOXES of fake hair of one sort or another.  It's fun!  I used to change my hairstyle every day.  Now none of them match my grey hair , so I'm going to have to start a new "collection".

I have a few fun hairpieces that hang up in my dressing room like little Cousin Its.  None of them match now I have purple hair
