  • I see a lot of posts about 'snacks' reminds me of when I was on a diet. All I could think about was 'what and how much can I eat on this 1000 calorie diet. My mind was obsessed about when to eat, what to eat. It will be 14 years in Sept since I had surgery and I don't plan snacks. I have three protein based meals a day. Once in awhile I might have a piece of fruit or something 'bad' but I don't make plans on what I can eat, when I can eat. This is what works for me.

Similarly if i use the term "breakfast, lunch, snack, I get hung up on what type of food I should be eating. So I've moved to referring to everything as a meal, and I allow myself 4 meals per day.- protein based of course. What they consist of varies and I don't have that mental hang up of not allowing my self to eat an egg after 10am, or just having some cheese squares & cashews as I walk out the door in the morning.
