I posted about this before. I cancelled my weight loss surgery a few months ago after I thought I was so sure I wanted it. I just got scared and life cir****tances weren't that good at the time. Now I am regretting it. I need to get healthy.

You can always start the process again, if your head is now in the right place to be successful.

Most of the people whose lives could be immensely improved by weight loss surgery never get it. Lack of insurance, fear, and a world where many believe that you are taking the easy way out prevent people from taking the one step that will give them their best shot at a slim body and healthy life. You can continue to try other ways to get healthy. Your chances of succeeding without the surgery are about 3%.

Having the surgery raises your chances of success to about 50%. If you have the surgery and follow the diet and exercise plan you can lose the excess weight for life. Many people do well for about two years and then go back to overeating and under exercising.

They end up with regain. Probably half lose 100 pounds and regain 50. Some regain 100 or more pounds. For the first two years it can be a walk in the park, but after that it requires you to stick to the diet and exercise program to have continued success.

Real life begins where your comfort zone ends

I didn't cancel but I have postponed even seeing a weight loss surgeon several times.

I cancelled in 2015 thinking WW would work only to reach my highest weight ever and went through the full process again in 2017. My only regret was canceling in May 2015. Go back and see if any of the pre authorizations are still valid and redo the ones that aren't. I promise you the sooner the better. My main reason for canceling was I did not like the surgeon. If you are happy with the surgeon, go back and get it done.
