Well, I had my first consult w/ the surgeon Jan. 19th 2017, here in Youngstown, OH, and Dr. Woodruff has accepted me as a patient. Yippee! However, I requested a 2nd consult w/ him because instead of the 90minute session I was told it would be, it was roughly 20 & never got to ask my grocery list length of questions. I was a bit miffed about that and I felt although he's congenial, he's a bit aloof too [it's not like he had another for two more hours I was informed by a staff member]. I sought out reviews of him on google & OH.com and this seems to be his "M.O.", but he does good work so I've read [no current reviews though on this site. had to Google for a few recent. [sadly not everyone gives a review. even searched YouTube. Zilch.], I've exhausted my other options and this is the best fit for me anyway. The staff member obliged & bariatric nurse obliged & said, "of course they'll set the appt." Since he's only in the office on Thursday mornings, I'll be seeing him Thursday, Feb. 16th @ 8AM.

Hi, I'm only now just making some headway and have finally been able to sit down w/ a bariatric surgeon here in Youngstown, OH, and I've been w/ OH.com since 2002! I usually post on the General Discussion board.
Also many people, w/ video cams/ webcams, are doing Vlogs of their weight loss journey on YouTube and/ or posting on Bypass and VSG groups on FB and other social networks.
But OH.com will always be the place I first interacted w/ & saw b4 & after pics of people that looked like me all aspiring for the same thing(s); sorta similar goals. To be slimmer, healthier, more ambulatory and active and to LIVE-- not just exist.
Cheers,
Jen
Happy belated Surgiversary! No matter what, you've made great strides over the years for the better. You've got this. Never lose that momentum. I hope to be where you are some day.

Wow.I appreciate your post so much because I see that this truly will be a lifelong maintenance. You have done an amazing job, so don't beat yourself up. I would love to be 178 and in a 10, but I'm not. However, I am committed to trucking along until I get there. Remember to be kind to yourself and stay in the fight. You will be victorious.

Hello All:
I can't believe another year has come and gone and I'm still working on getting to my weight loss goal of 138lbs. Once I hit that it will be a 204lb loss since my RNY. Sometimes I want to give up, I do that allot which is why I haven't met my goal yet, but then I realize that if I give up I'm gonna be back at 342 where I started or higher. That gets me back on track for awhile. So, I am yo yo dieting and exercising and it has gotten me to my current weight of 173.6 lbs.
I took phen-phen over the holiday it worked the first day but not the second so I don't want to get back on those. I tried the back-on-track system but I had headaches everyday. I'm always trying to find something that will work for me. I'm still in size 8 as long as they are stretch and into some 10's which is very disheartening for me since I swore I would not buy a bigger size.
I am going to continue to work on getting to my goal and hopefully the sabotage will decrease and the willpower will increase. So far this week I've been good and trying not to overindulge and workout 6 days a week. Good luck all!
Forgot to include my surgery date 1/15/04.

What is head hunger? Is it a short term thing with long term consequences or the reverse. How do you know when it ends or if it may repeat? Can you prevent it before it begins.

I am still here from back in the day. I view the message boards infrequently as I have found certain aspects of the site to have changed and are not quite as user friendly.
I miss the support and fun we used to have in the early 2000's. My surgerversary was 12/23/04. Any old school folks still online?
Hi....
I caught a case of head hunger bad and gained 35 lbs. I haven't been able to take it off, but I have been at the same weight for at least 6 years.
Has your doc approved sublingual tablets for under your tongue or vitamin patches? THey also have a nasal spray called nascobal.
