I didn't really see results until I was 8 weeks out.  You will have lots of water retention and build up from your surgery still in your body. I looked bloated and people kept asking when I was going to look like I was losing.  I think your weight loss and freedom from diabetes meds is great!

Keep on climbing, Till I reach the higher ground

Wow Lia, your results are inspiring, congratulations!!  WOW!!  You look fantastic!

I'm also in MD, can I ask the name of your tummy tuck Dr.?  I'm 8 years out and pretty ready to get my tummy done.

Thanks.

Hey, Thanks for that reminder- it is doable..  I had my greatest success with a food and activity journal tracking: a low carb/high protein diet, and lots of water & excercise.

I'm 8 yrs out and I started regaining after my knees gave out 5 years ago.    My knees are still jacked up, but I'm trying to get off the excess weight.  I recently started going to a Cognative Behavior group & I joined the local gym; I just love Zumba and yoga.

"Back to Basics"- love it.  Thanks, and keep pressing forward.

I have lost 45 lbs since mayb feb. I have.no appetite. This is awful.

Has anyone on the board had this problem?

Sorry you're going through this. Which procedure did you have?

I was disappointed weight wasn't "melting off" as the doc had said it would. I took pictures monthly since surgery- I noticed a difference by the 3rd month out. It takes time- stick with it.

Hi, my name is Dawn I am new to this site as well. I just recently had surgery December 6 of this year and it seems like the weight loss is slow and my appetite is the same.

My surgery date was 12/7/16 and I had the misconception that I would wake up like Beyoncé or at least 30 pounds lighter. Yet reality has set in in and I have only lost 7 pounds, yet I am no longer on my medication for diabetes. I find myself grateful to have had this opportunity to improve my health and self esteem. Can anyone tell me when they started seeing results after surgery?

Hi and welcome to the site. You should repost this on the VSG forum because not many people use this forum. Unfortunately appetites can come back, it may just be head hunger or acid reflux. Try drinking a glass of water when you first feel hunger, you might just be dehydrated and not really hungry at all. Also try taking an antacid, if you not longer hungry after taking that, then it may be acid reflux. Wish you the best!

It's the best decision, I did a blog on my experience if you want to read it.  Be well!
