Hello HQ , I've been away for awhile also. I need to get it together, eating healthy and exercise ing. Blessings on you procedure.
HELLO newbies and old timers . I am back to where it all started from . I have abandoned the board like we all tend to do when we get to our goal weight. I have now gained 60 lbs back I still look damn good but I want to get back in to my size 12's and this 16 is a fight to put on . I have the apollo procedure scheduled for 11/4/15 and will keep everyone updated on my progress.
Greetings, I am a newbie as well (RNY 26 weeks post op) and I have lost 60 lbs! (from 265-200lbs) Still learning the nutritonal boundaries lines, but loving the look I have been achieving! My family is amazed and I thank God each day for his favor! Many of my church members have had WLS and I am learning what works for me. I too was not sure about this path, but I knew I couldn't continue the way I was going. I am down to 1 pressure pill and soon to be done altogether. I wish everyone the best in their journeys as I continue embarking on mine.
Hi I am right there with you. I am considering getting the sleeve but I am so nervous about it. I am also in the pre surgery stage in the process of meeting requirements for insurance. I have met with my surgeon and I have already lost 11 pounds with the help of a weight loss doctor that I am required to go to to qualify through my insurance. I just really want to know if this is worth it. I have been struggling with weight for a long time and I have lost weight a few times, my last attempt I lost 50 lbs but gained it back after a year. I just want this to be the last time I have to struggle with my weight and I want to be sure that I am here for my kids and grandbabies.

Thanks, I know I shouldn't worry about it. My Dr. did say that he doubt that I would become too thin.
I chose RNY because of the malabsorption and I had a lot to lose. If I had diabetes I would chose RNY. Many people who are on insulin walk out of the hospital on no medication. Their last dose is pre-surgery. With RNY it is not just the weight loss that turns the diabetes around, something in the surgery itself changes the metabolism...which I don't even think the doctors/research totally understands. I have heard it said many times on these boards it is very rare for anyone to be worried about being - too thin- by year 3. I also think your body has to adjust to the weight loss, and even if your weight stays the same, you probably look better further out.

Have you gotten help since this post? I am 12 years post op and it became an issue about 6 years ago. Went through a lot but the feat of damaging my liver " forced" me to change. I also gained almost all of my weight back due to alcohol
HI!!!!! I am new to the site as well and I have been so close to surgery twice but the first time I backed out and the second time my insurance changed. Glad to see that you too are putting all the pieces together.
