Vitamins are for life forever. Check with your doctor to make sure all your blood chems are in the good range. Do you have lactose issues? I seen people on the site writing that post op issues can arise at anytime. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Hey everyone!  I am also new to OH. I'm from Los Angeles, CA. I made a decision to have RNY last year but the night before my surgery I backed out. I know, I know....after all the pre-op mazes and hoops I "chickened out;" so they say. BUT I recently came across some information about the duodenal switch and it all fell into place. I understand why I didn't go through it the first time. I am completely confident that is option is the right one for me. I'm waiting to hear back from you surgeons office to schedule my consultation. I'm back at square 1 but am here (like everyone else) for the support. So hey LeAnne! Which surgery are you scheduling?

Cut the carbs, white flour and starches out. The more of the stuff you eat the worse you smell and more gas you get.

Topic: 1week post op!

Greetings from VA. I'm a full week today post op. The soreness has worn off just a little tender. Still trying to finger out how much I can tolerate in drinking and how fast I can drink, haven't mastered that yet!. I'm concerned I'm not getting enough protein, how did y'all get that 50grams of protein in in the first couple of weeks?

Topic: RE: Which Surgery Do you Think?

Hi simone! Our stats are similar! I'm 5'3, about 225lbs, I take bp meds, and am borderline diabetic! I had the lapband done in 2005 and was very successful for a while. About 2.5- 3 years into it, weightloss stopped and it took over 3 years of hardcore research onthe internet for me to reach the manufacturers of my band and to be told about a recall due to slow leak development. Fastforward to today, I need to have my lapband removed because it has broken inside of me in2 places. I have been hesitantly contemplating a revision to the sleeve but very worried about developing complications similar to what I experienced with the band, not to mention, I would be soooo depressed if I were to have revision surgery only to be unsuccessful. Glad to hear your revision has proven successful. Gives me hope :)

Welcome!  I was sleeved 7/18/15.  I'm down 31 pounds and medication free.  Best decision I ever made!  Good luck!!

Sleeve was my choice.  I'm 5'3 and weighed 234.  I was sleeved 7/18/15.  I'm now 204 and I hope to lose about 64 more pounds.  I love my sleeve.  I had High Blood Pressure, Sleep Apnea (CPAP Machine) and was borderline diabetic.  I no longer BP meds and I dont sleep with my CPAP machine.  It's the best decision I made! Good luck with your decision!!
