Weekend Reflections
Did you ever struggle with guilt, shame and remorse over sins in the past? For me, that is a chronic problem. As I was discussing this with a friend, she told me about a skit that her husband saw where Jesus was talking with Peter, and Peter was asking the Lord if He remembered certain events in their walk together. Then, Peter asked if the Lord remembered when Peter denied Him, and the Lord said, "No."
The Lord remembers our sins no more. He forgets them immediately upon our confession of them. We may still have consequences to deal with, like the divorce, the financial mess, the weight and health problems that go with overeating, or whatever our sins get us into, but the Lord has an instant forgetter.
This means, that if I am plaqued by guilt, shame and remorse, it is not of God. It is straight from the pits of Hell. Satan does not want us to walk in victory, but in defeat. He may not take away our salvation, but he can steal our joy and cause us to beat ourselves up all the time in shame.
So, now when I pray, I get on my knees in humility, and thank the Lord for forgetting my sin. I thank Him for the new life He is giving me. This life is not just a physical renewal because of my wls, but the new opportunities to serve Him, and the people He puts in my path.
Just wanted to share that with you.
Hugs,
Trish
I should have majored in guilt and shame in college!! The worst part was that most of it was not even my fault!! I know what you mean though about how you can feel guilt even after God has forgiven you. I espesially find it hard when I mess up now as a Christian. I confess as soon as I become aware that I messed up because I do not want anything between me and God,but I still feel guilty sometimes for awhile. I have to just remember that the blood covers that sin and God knows my heart and my heart is to serve and to love Him. Its not always easy to forgive ourselves though. I also just got home from my mom's and its really hard when others remind you even though they know you are living for God now. I am just glad that 1 JOhn 4:4 is so true. He is greater than the enemy-all the time!!
Also-Here is a good website on the Daniel Fast if you want to look at it still. Huigs-Amy

Morning Trish,
Yep, I think we ALL have struggled with it HOWEVER, its taken a while but I realize the Lord died on the cross for us to forgive us of our sins. He wiped our slates clean and allows us to start over. These are mistakes I am referring to. All of us falter and make them but God gives us CHOICES. We can choose to change our thoughts, ideas, behaviors & we CAN strive to do our best. Sure we have down days, sad moments, trying times but its really true the Lord never gives us more than we can handle. Its the faith & belief & joy of knowing that there IS light at the end of the tunnel & its NOT a freight train even though it feels like it and seems like it at times. We are tested & tried & ONE is the only truth & that IS God!
Enjoy your Monday!
Kat
