Trish,
Thanks for you transparency. I too, had a traumatic childhood, my oldest brother murdered my father when I was 12. I didn't witness it, but I have witnessed a couple of brothers hallucinate and become delusional, and scare me. The threat of violence was present in my childhood and early adulthood.
Thank God, I have a Christian mother! She taught us to live by faith and trust God by example. I've seen here look in the face of evil and command it to reside. I've seen her pray for rain, and it rain only on her garden while the rest of the area was in a long hot dry spell.
Due to some of the traumatic events of my childhood, I have dealt with fear as it exposes itself in different ways. Fear of the dark, fear or storms, fear of animals, etc. I have over come some fears, but other grip me at times.
When I was about 40 I had the surgery induced menopause. That is when the majority of my anxiety manifest it self. I take medication for it. I have prayed for years for deliverance, for I truly know what God can do, but this is something that I have had to accept. Just as one with diabetes has to have meds. I am on a low does of Zoloft. I hope this does not destroy my testimony, but I can only be honest. I am so thankful for a merciful God.

I love Psalms 91! I have went in to surgery more than once with that scripture in my heart. It is human nature to be scared, but remember who you serve. Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.
(BTW, have you researched all 4 major types of wls? I hope so. If you haven't., I would do it. I know you would not want to postpone surgery, and I am not try to dissuade you from having a lap band, but I would hate for you to hear about a different procedure later, and wish you would have known about it earlier. God Bless and keep us posted.

Karen,
I am here! You know, as I have grown older, I have found that as David had a Saul in his life, we too, may find that we have one. David loved and respected Saul, but he could never make peace with him. Sometimes we have to not only take the high road, but also lower the expectations that have for people. We must forgive and go on.
Once, I thought I had a Saul in my life. It was someone very dear to me. I just finally decided I could stand to be hurt no more and took myself out of the picture. But our amazing God worked on this person, and me as well. In time, we became closer than we had ever been and we value our relationship and refuse to let Satan destroy it.
I think we have to realize that we can't fix anyone, our kids, siblings, spouses, or whomever. Only He can.
God Bless,
and am I now redeemed? lol

Hi, Judy!
I have recieved some very ugly and vile responses on the main forum. I just use that little black button and block them.
More importantly, is I am glad there are Christians here too. But I am glad for the non Christians, as well. Who knows, maybe something we say will touch the heart of someone and affect them in a positive way.

Topic: Resolutions
The Bible tells us that we need to resolve arguments and disagreements. Nothing eats us up more than nurturing a grudge. As Christians we need to make every effort to resolve the disagreement. Hopefully this is easier to do with our fellow Christains because we both try to follow God's word.
Unfortunately many non Christians don't want to follow this idea and would hold onto and grow their grudge. I have a family member that has issues with me some what from being Christian but no matter how I've tried to reconcile the situation it just backfires and explodes on me. You can't force someone else to resolve things when they aren't willing. So do the best you can and always take the higher road. God bless! Karen

Consider it done!! Prayers have be lifted. I also got pregnant before I got married. I did marry my daughter's father when I was about 8 weeks along and we have now been married 20 years. I am blessed in the fact that my daughter has a heart for God and she strives to serve him every day. Please pray for her as well. She is going a mission trip to Israel for a month this summer and is in the process of raising the money. Please pray that God will provide.
