In my Daily Word today it stated "If you meet opposition, maybe it shows that you are doing something that counts" Just like the last few weeks Trish and I have both been assaulted with physical problems and I'm very sure it is because satan is not happy with us for getting this forum up and running again. Well poo on him cause we're here to stay and Trish and I have both been around the block many times in our lives so we are gonna stay right here and share God's word and have a place for our brothers and sisters in the Lord to come! So pray for us and continue coming here to share God's glory. God bless! Karen

You got it kiddo! I have arthritis in my feet really bad and the cold weather makes it hurt really bad. You don't realize how important your feet are till they hurt! Pray you're feeling better very soon.

I would appreciate prayer, because my toe is still infected.  The doctor examined my x-rays today, and said that the good news is the infection did not get to the bone, but it was close.  I go back in two weeks, and discuss the possibility of surgery to correct the hammertoes I have.

I would also appreciate prayer for my sinus infection, which is on the road to recovery, but not gone completely.

Thanks,
Trish

I have been told that I have the gifts of mercy and encouragement, which fit right in with this meditation!

Thanks for posting this thread on the PA board, Trish.  I forgot it existed!

This is a good topic, Karen.  I guess this topic is why I went into social work.  I have deep empathy for people when they suffer, and really feel that God has called me to this work.  I believe mercy and serving are my Spiritual gifts.

Glad you are feeling better.

Hugs,
Trish

Wheeew finally feeling better! Today I'm looking at weeping and rejoicing, something we all go thru in life. Do we share in others joys and sorrows as much as we do our own? Paul said in Rom. 12:15 "Rejoice with those *****joice and weep with those who weep." It's great to be part of our own rejoicing and weeping but even better to join others in their rejoicing and weeping. When we join others we can celebrate the power of the Lord thru their rejoicing and comfort someone else with their weeping. Don't miss the opportunity to see the grace of God at work. God bless! A Life of Peace

Isaiah 26:2-4

Today's meditation, taken from In Touch Ministries, is about relying and trusting on the Lord during times of trouble.

2 "Open the gates, that the righteous nation may enter, The one that remains faithful. 3 "The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, Because he trusts in You. 4 "Trust in the LORD forever, For in GOD the LORD, we have an everlasting Rock.

Scripture says that God will keep me in perfect peace because I trust in Him.  It says we have an everlasting Rock.  I used to have a rock collection, and studied Geology in college.  Rocks are hard, and take extreme measures to wear down, or degrade.  Scripture says that the Lord is everlasting as a Rock.  Everlasting, forever and ever.

I must confess that I fail to keep the lines of communication open between the Lord and myself, and because of that, my faith fails at times.  I will say that I used to get panic attacks and anxiety attacks all the time, but as I have grown in the Lord, and experienced His faithfulness, I have developed a sense of peace more and more.  Experiencing His faithfulness in the past has allowed me to know that He is my Rock for sure.

I know that I must deepen my prayer life, and improve my consistency in reading my scriptures.  The more I read His Word and pray, the stronger my faith is during times of stress and trouble.  I can't predict when or where stress happens, but I can ensure my mind is set on the Lord's faithfulness when it happens.

Have a good day, and focus on the Lord.

Hugs,
Trish

Thanks for jumping in Trish! My lungs are so bad I can't hardly walk to the bathroom with out huffin' and puffin'. We must be doing a good job annoying satan since he's after both of us. I expected it cause it never fails when you step out for God, satan doesn't like it! Tuff luck satan take it somewhere else we don't need ya! Any of you other folks out there please pray for us.
You are so right Trish, God can use the worst of us, in fact He can use us the most. It's easy to follow when you are raised that way but folks like us who came to God the hard way are awesome examples for Him. We show others who have gone astray that He was there for us and He'll be there for them too. I'm just so thankful He turned my life around, thank you Lord!

The Effectiveness of God's Way

Exodus 3:1-22

Our past failures never prevent God's willingness or ability to use us. In fact, our weakness is a great opportunity for the display of His glory. In our own strength, we are totally ineffective. But when we submit to the Lord's authority, we can experience His victory in whatever He calls us to do.

Did you ever wonder if you totally screwed up, and ruined your chances at being used by God?  I know I have, many times.  Even as a believer, I have done some pretty awful stuff, and hated myself for being so wicked.  Yet, I am comforted to know that God can use my gifts and talents to glorify Him throughout the rest of my life.

Hey Karen,
I know what you mean about being under attack.  I am also under attack, with a sinus infection and an infected toe.

I am happy to help out with the devotions.  Maybe that is why I am also under more physical attack as well.

I will also admit that I have been struggling more with depression, which I guess the enemy wants more too.

Hang in there.

Hugs,
Trish
