Matthew 7: 13 & 14  "Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.  Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

Hi, Everyone.
Please pray for our pastor's daughter, Kelsi, a student at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago (studying to be a missionary). She and the other members of the volleyball team were in an accident this evening.
My friend (and pastor's wife) was able to talk with Kelsi, as everyone was en route to the ER, and Kelsi was complaining of neck and back pain. Please pray for a physical touch of healing for all involved, and pray for comfort for all the families.
I'm sure I'll hear more tomorrow, and I will post an update. Thanks for praying.
Blessings,
Mary

Hi Mary
Yes, I was born, raised and live in a beautiful paradise called DR!!!  What a coincidence!!  We had a summer house very near Jarabacoa, in a little neighborhood called El Montaña.. great weather and breathtaking sights there.. unfortunately we had to give up the house because we did not have time to go with some frequency and to take care of it.  I'm glad they have dominican friends and that they're spreading God's word outside the US!!  I love your daughter's pre-wedding story.. loved the story when her fiance kneeled down and proposed, and also felt related with the few months left to prepare a wedding because I was also through that process almost 4 years ago.. we only had 5 months to plan and execute everything, and let me tell you we had the wedding of my dreams.. nothing to regret, nothing that I missed or would have done in another way.. She wont become a bridezilla because she has the Power of God making things happening in a miracleous way, and my only advice for her is to hear advices and to let her friends and family help, sometimes we want almost perfect events and we certainly humans can not control everything!  Letting friends and family help will give her some release and time to enjoy this special time, and to be a guest in her own wedding..  I was blessed with a Mom who searched Heaven and Earth for the exact color I wanted for my bridesmaids' dress and friends who took care of every lace to be put in the little chimes, took care of the flower girls' headset, many things I can't even remember.. I hope this is a beautiful time to enjoy together as a family!

Blessings!

Thanks for reading and replying. Are you from the D.R.? My daughter, Leah, and her fiance' taught at Jarabacoa Christian School there. They have many friends at Escrila Carribe (not sure if I spelled that right). :)
Have a great day.

Trish During my morning devotions/bible study God called me to read Lamentations 3 He hand picked these verses for you:

Lamentations 3: 19-24
"
It's a Good Thing to Hope for Help from God
19-21I'll never forget the trouble, the utter lostness,
the taste of ashes, the poison I've swallowed.
I remember it all—oh, how well I remember—
the feeling of hitting the bottom.
But there's one other thing I remember,
and remembering, I keep a grip on hope:

22-24God's loyal love couldn't have run out,
his merciful love couldn't have dried up.
They're created new every morning.
   How great your faithfulness!
I'm sticking with God (I say it over and over).
He's all I've got left.  The messge

This was such a comfort to me this morning and I pray that it is for you also. Remember Isaiah 61:3
" and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
       instead of ashes,
       the oil of gladness
       instead of mourning,
       and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
       a planting of the LORD
for the display of his splendor. NIV
These verse have gotten me through some really tough times. God's mercies are new every morning and His grace and love will sustain you. Keep God in your thought closet front and center.
In Christ
Karyn

Trish, I so can sympathize and empathize with you. I am so dealing with being attacked by the enemy in every way possible these days. I have had to immerse myself in His word and have learned that if I can let go and Let God and Let God rule and not only leave it at His feet but nail it to the cross I can overcome anything with God. Exodus 15:14-18 states:
14-18 When people heard, they were scared;
      Philistines writhed and trembled;
Yes, even the head men in Edom were shaken,
and the big bosses in Moab.
   Everybody in Canaan
      panicked and fell faint.
   Dread and terror
      sent them reeling.
   Before your brandished right arm
they were struck dumb like a stone,
Until your people crossed over and entered, O God,
until the people you made crossed over and entered.
You brought them and planted them
on the mountain of your heritage,
   The place where you live,
      the place you made,
   Your sanctuary, Master,
that you established with your own hands.
   Let God rule
forever, for eternity!  The Message (MSG)
This is my prayer for you today. Let God rule. With God all things are possible and look how far you have come.
May God bless you and keep you
In Christ
Karyn

Hi always good to hear from you. Glad you are still working at your issues even if you aren't ready to give up some things yet. You know you can do it with God's help but you're right He won't help if you aren't willing to give them to Him. I have fibro and it's certainly not fun, it's so difficult to find pain relief for any length of time. Wishing you all the best and keep us up on your struggles. God bless!

Good Morning Friends,
I am posting again to say I have been AWOL.  I have been working a lot of hours and suffering a lot of physical pain from a variety of syndromes.  I have arthritis just about everywhere.  I also have degenerative disk disease in my spine.  Now, they are going to check me for fibromyalgia, but I can't see the rheumatologist till Christmas, because he is so booked.  Please pray this doctor gets a cancellation, and I can see him sooner.  I am in agony.

I am also struggling with some self-destructive behaviors that do not involve chemicals.  A lot of painful emotions have been surfacing and I am not handling them well at all.  Honestly, I do not want to give them up at this point, because it is so much easier to just keep doing them than to try to stop.  I know God can give me strength, but I do not want to give them up yet.

Sorry I have not been around.  Working two jobs, watching my Phillies till late at night, and trying to keep up with grades is just killing me.

Hugs,
Trish
