That's sweet, Sandy. Yes, children are such good examples to us grownups, of what it means to live in childlike faith. :)

Hi, Kathy.
It is so wonderful to watch my grandchildren, especially the ones who have already asked Jesus into their heart, because you do see such pure faith in them. I remember when my grandson was home from the D.R., one Christmas. He SO wanted it to snow, but it didn't look like that was going to happen. Just a few days before they were due to head back, I got up, and it was snowing! When Dylan woke up, I said, "Dylan, go look out the door." He opened up the door, saw the snow, looked up and said, "Thank You, Jesus." He said it in such a way, in such a quiet tone of voice, that I knew he meant it and meant for only Jesus to hear it. It was very precious. He absolutely believed that Jesus had made it snow just for him. And then he was off to play in the snow! :)
I plant the word in my children and grandchildren whenever I can, because I firmly believe that "God's Word will not return void." So true, too. :)
Blessings,
Mary

Wow, I got tears reading your story. Aren't children just so much more in tune and faithful. That ol' faith of a mustard seed...

Hi, Karyn.
Thank you so much for your kind words. Dylan is awesome, and I was blessed to lead him to the Lord the day before they left for the D.R. He was only 4 years old, but it was real. Later that evening, we had a light dinner--just sandwiches and pretzels. As we adults were talking, Dylan was playing with his food. I noticed that he had quietly said something, after he placed 2 pretzel sticks together, so I said, "What did you say, Dylan?" He pointed to the 2 pretzel sticks he had put in the shape of a cross and said, "It's forgiveness of sins." We grownups just sat there, tearing up, and I said, "That's right, sweetie. It is forgiveness of sins, and Nana is so happy that you have had your sins forgiven." That was July 19, 2004, so Dylan has had 5 spiritual birthdays since then. I typed up the story of when Dylan asked Jesus into his heart, and I framed it, along with 2 pretzel sticks in the shape of a cross. We read Dylan's story every year, on his spiritual birthday. :)
Blessings,
Mary

Thank you so much for sharing that Mary. God is just too good to us. I am rejoicing with you and your family for this marvelous answer to prayer. Thank you for letting us know how God is moving in your familie's life. You are truly blessed by your grandson I can tell by the joy that is in your words. God and you and your husband did a very good job raising your children, you can tell by the way they are raising your grandchildren. May you have a blessed day.

My oldest daughter, Leah, is in her early 30s. She is a single mom (she adopted her son when he was about 18 months old but has been with him since he was a newborn). She and my grandson spent 4 years in the Dominican Republic, where she was a missionary teacher.
It has been my daughter's desire to marry a godly man. She does not date, as she believed God would bring the right man for her into her life, and they would both know it. My grandson has been praying for a father. My daughter has been praying for a husband. With both of them, I have talked about the verse, "Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart." I shared that the word "delight" in the Hebrew means to be "soft, pliable, moldable."
For the past year, my daughter has been focusing on being moldable. She has worked on all areas of her life (physically, emotionally, and spiritually). She has become much more organized yet flexible, and she has lost 70 lbs.
There is a young man (several years her junior) from Indiana, who also served in the D.R., and they've been communicating via the internet and by phone. Last night, he asked if he could court her. He plans to move to Kansas, in order to do that.
While I have not met this young man, my husband has, and he approves. My grandson doesn't know yet, but he will be so happy, because he adores this young man! Actually, he told me several years ago that this would happen. Let me explain.
One Christmas, when they were home from the D.R. for the holidays, I asked my grandson if he prays for God to bring him a daddy, and he said, "I used to, Nana, but now I just say, 'Thank You, God, for bringing me a daddy.'" I asked why he prays that way. He said that not too long before, when they were in the D.R., he prayed (just like he did every night) for Jesus to bring him a daddy, and he said that he heard Jesus say, "I will, and it is Regan" (the young man's name).
Here it is, several years later, and while my grandson no longer talks about it, I know he hasn't forgotten what Jesus said. I've asked my daughter to let me be present when she and Regan tell Dylan about their relationship, because I want to see Dylan's face when he realizes that God has answered his prayer!
I'm sitting here, weeping, because I'm so happy and grateful that we serve a loving Heavenly Father, who cares about the desires of a mother, a daughter, and a grandson. Thanks for letting me share, and for reading this long post.
Blessings,
Mary

Topic: Life Plan Devotion #152 [It's a barrier]
Hi, Everyone.
Please pray for those having surgery today, as well as those recovering from surgery. Pray for those dealing with their own wilderness wandering today. As always, I love hearing from you.
Life Plan Devotion #152 [It's a barrier]
Isaiah 59:1-2 "Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear" (NIV).
Last time, we looked at the first of just a few lessons I have learned in my wilderness wanderings, that even in the wilderness, God provides and guides. Today, let's look at the second lesson I have learned. It is a lesson that is crucial.
Lesson #2 is that sin will stop the flow of God's provision to you. Sin is a problem. It separates you from God, the very One who can provide for your needs as you're in the wilderness.
Sin creates a barrier. God will not look at sin, and He turns a deaf ear to the prayers of those living in unconfessed sin. What sin is worth living without the help of Almighty God?
What this has to do with weight loss: When the weight-loss journey begins to feel like a wilderness wandering, when you have asked God to help you but the answers just don't seem to come, it is helpful to take stock of your life. See if there is unconfessed sin that may be keeping the Lord from blessing your weight-loss journey. If there is, take care of it.
Prayer for Today:
"Heavenly Father, it is good to remind myself that sin is a barrier to Your provision, to Your willingness to intervene in my life. My desire is to keep a clean slate with You, every day. May I be so spiritually sensitive, that the second I even think of sinning, my conscience is *****ed. I don't want anything to keep me from a close walk with You. I want to be a person You can bless. In Jesus' Name. Amen."
Go forth today, living a life God can bless.
Blessings,
Mary
