Heavenly Father we ask that you would give Trish relief from this sinus infection and restore her energy. She has worked hard lately and needs your strength to revive her so she can get to work and to get settled into her new apartment. Please give her healing and send this infection away. We ask this in Jesus name, Amen!
Topic: Prayer Request
I would appreciate prayer for a sinus infection that came up over the weekend during my move. It has me wiped out totally. I slept most of Sunday afternoon and was in bed with chills by 7:00 last night. It has involved nausea and general malaise.
Thanks ahead of time.
Hugs,
Trish

I so wish folks could realize the truth in this! I read soooo many posts from women and men who have less than zero self esteem just because of their weight and they just need to kick that attitude. Maybe because I come from a family of big people not just over weight but big like all my great uncles (5) were over 6'2" and most were overe 300lbs. Just big ol' people so my being over weight wasn't a big deal and I was raised to be proud of myself no matter what I looked like. I've always felt good enough about myself to dress nicely and not let people walk on me. My daughter is also a big girl and she has awesome self esteem, she isn't afraid to try anything. Fortunately I've not been discriminated against either but again I think that is because I present myself with respect and expect it back. Some of these poor folks are afraid to even poke their nose out the door. I wish I could just do an "I'm awesome" class! It breaks my heart that they feel so badly about themselves!

Hi Karen,
I posted on the other thread how the move went. I like this topic. I had the WLS to get into normal sizes. After my relapse with alcohol, I also picked up sugar, and regained 40 pounds of the over 100 I lost. Those 40 are still there, but that is because while I have been sober almost 20 months, the sugar habit still plagues me. Also, the orthopedic injuries have cutback on my exercise regimen.
But regardless of the number on the scale, I am special and must remember that no matter what. Maybe if I kept that in mind, I would not be as tempted to give into the sugar.
Hugs,
Trish

I am praying for your healing. My doc put pins in with the hammertoe surgery this time, and he says they will be in there for a year before they dissolve. I was still feeling them till about a month ago, and the surgery was done in March.
My move started out iffy, but the guys who arrived recruited more help from the church, and they had the upstairs emptied by 1:00. They had an assembly line going, and there were 7 adults and five teens helping schlep stuff from upstairs and then my sister and 2 friends from AA helped unpack my kitchen and bedroom. I was ordered to sit down every time I got up, by one of the elders from my church who was there. I did not do much, but I am exhausted none the less. The Lord blessed us with mild temps and low humidity, which was a big help. After last week's hurricane, I prayed for mild weather. When I moved in upstairs, it was the day after Christmas two years ago, and it rained all day. That day, it was my kids, their wives and girlfriend and my sis-in-law packing a truck and unpacking it. It took all day, and my kids were so patient with me, because I was not as prepared because I hosted Christmas dinner the day before. Plus, they ended up pitching a bunch of stuff. Today, one of my bookcases and a cabinet I had used in my previous apartments ended up down at the curb, because they were starting to fall apart.

Trish

It was the repair of a repaired hammer toe surgery. They were fixed once before but I have odd soft tissue that doesn't stay put well and ends up "wandering off" again after awhile, I'm hoping this lasts for a few years this time. Once this one heals I'll have the other foot done.
Don't worry I'm sure your move will go smoothly and be sure to let the others do the majority if the work. You'll still have plenty to do unpacking. I bet Utley will love having a yard of his own! Take care, Karen

Hi Karen,
Glad your surgery went well. Was it hammertoe surgery? I am due for another round of it as soon as my foot heals from this stress injury.
I could use prayer for my move on Saturday. I am moving downstairs to a nicer apartment. Less steps to climb is an added bonus. Plus, my dog will have a yard to play in. I am stressed because I asked for help from folks at church, and from the teens in the youth ministry, and have no clue if anyone, other than three men who committed to help, and family. I can't carry a lot because I have to wear a boot on my foot, and stair climbing is treacherous without having to carry anything. Please pray for me to have peace about this.
Hugs,
Trish

Well my surgery went well and my foot is finally not hurting so bad.
How often do we get caught in the hero worship trap? We admire someone for their talents and want to be like them. We may try to look like them, act like them or even try to be better than they are. Well you know what, God made you to be you, not the person you idolize. Since God doesn't make mistakes we have to trust that He made us just the way He wanted us to be. If not He would have made you like your hero and then neither of you would be special!
This is especially important with weight loss surgery because try as we might not all of us end up where we would like to be. Myself I only lost about 40 lbs and have gained back 10 of those so I'm pretty much where I started. It finally dawned on me tho that I'm still a very special person in God's eyes. No matter what I look like to others here on earth God sees me as His own wonderful child. So even tho I may not pass human inspection I certainly DO pass my Lord's inspection. He made me and He made me perfect in His eyes so what do I care if an earthly person looks down on me. We need to learn to be happy in our own bodies no matter what that body looks like.
I'm not saying we shouldn't have surgery just that IF it doesn't come out the way we'd hoped it doesn't mean we are less than.
God bless!
