Sounds about right Jamie; my revision with Dr. Rabkin ended up costing just under $40k. I was in the hospital for 8 days and that did cost extra, but I think what you're posting is in the ballpark.

You may want to check with Dr. Simper in SLC and Stewart in TX, I believe they're self pay revision prices are around $20k total.

Thanks, Kerry.  I actually saw Dr. K last month, and got the paperwork.  I actually wanted to let people know, if they were looking for cash prices, what this doc charges.

Thant's what I paid for my revision with him plus travel and all the pre-op stuff not covered by my insurance. Hopefully it'll help with our taxes.

Unless you're in the top 1% of incomes in the US, it'll make a nice healthy difference in your taxes :-). We got a very good refund the year of my surgery!

Good to keep in mind, about the medical write-off!!!!  I did that with my 1st surgery in 2002 & it DEFINATELY helped get some of the $$ back!!

THANKS!!!!

We're definitely not in the top 1%. I'm looking forward to the good tax news for a change.

Does this mean bad news from insurance, or just planning ahead?

Definately a back-burner plan (my plan 'B' is Dr. Ungson in Mexico).  I posted these for other pre-op people, in case they were wondering how much it can cost.

Still waiting on the determination from insurance.  But I am not getting my hopes up for an approval, just yet.....
