Limited bean score

O.K. for all you sports bean fans.
I was able to score some sports beans today.
They are $1.00 per 1/2 pound bag.  For some reason that's how they had them packaged instead of the 1 pound bags.  They also only had one flavor the lemon lime.

I bought 20 pounds of the beans.

So if you still want some let me know how many, Just send me a personal message with your address and the quantity you want.

I'll see how many I can cram into a box and get back to you with the total for the shipping.

Scott,

Just curious, do you think that these really make that much of a difference?  Or, are we better off just adding carbs and vitamins the old fashioned way?  I never know whether these are just gimmicks (i.e., the placebo effect) or whether they actually work.  Thanks for any insight you have on this.

They are a race food.  Gels, power drinks, cliff bars that kind of thing.
They are a convenient food, they aren't all gummy like the shot blocks and have a pleasant consistancy unlike the gels.

They aren't meant to be a regular food source, you might as well eat candy.  I like them because they are convenient.  If I am going to use a gel, I mix it with my beverage, I don't care for the gels straight up out of the package.  The consitancy is kind of nasty to me.  The shot block are o.k. but they are a lot bigger than a sports bean or two.  I have a hard time chewing one of those shot block when I'm running, especially if I'm to the point where it starts to mess with my breathing.  The beans are small enough that they don't cause that problem for me.

They also don't cause me to dump.  That was how I found them in the first place was through testing to see what did and didn't upset my stomach while running.

I don't think you are going to find anything out there that improves your performance.  If you can eat a banana or a cookie during a race and not have to run for the restroom, then that works for you.  If it's peanut butter and crackers, go for that.  It is just calories to give your body the glycogen it needs to keep the muscles working.
