I recently picked up a Schwinn 230 Recumbent Exercise Bike.  I really like this bike I am just over the weight limit but that will not be for long.

I rode the bike today for 30 minutes.  As this was only my second time I was pacing it.  I did about 3.2 miles in that 30 minutes and my heart rate was avg. 100 for about 25 minutes of the ride.

I currently weight 334 pounds and am 5'10"

According to the results on the bike computer and what I plug into Livestrong I burned 522 calories.  This seems like a lot to me.  Does this sound right?

It does sound like a lot for 30 minutes, but it will go down as you lose weight.
It's been a while since I was 334 pounds and I don't recall what the calorie burn was like.
You can check several other sources and compare them, but most of them are estimates.
Unless you know what your metabolic rate is like and what your heart rate is doing while you you are exercising.

I usually check a variety of sources then pick the one with the lowest estimated calorie burn and log that one.

Well, the heavier you are the more calories you burn. As has already been said, the number will go down. Doing 30 minutes only the second time to ride is really good. Keep it up!
