Do you GU?
My first half marathon this summer, I only had water with NUUN. I walk, but the last three miles were torture. I did another half Oct. 3rd, and used GU around mile 6 and mile 10, and finished a lot stronger, even jogged over the finish line. My husband runs and uses it and says it helps a lot. I had no problem eating it straight out of the little GU pack. My husband likes the expresso, I like the mint chocolate. I ate it really slowly because I was afraid it might be a problem, but it wasn't.

I used gu roctane when running my half last week and for all my long training runs. I have the lap band and I tend to be tight in the mornings. I like the blueberry/pomegranate flavor the roctane is the only one that did not upset my stomach. I would stick it in my shirt to get a warm so it would thin out a bit or if I forgot I would drink a little water with it to thin it out some. I gu 30 minutes before then at mile 4, 6 and 12 I carried an extra with me just incase I needed it. I know I gu a little more than others but it has worked for me so far.
I tried GU but even after trying 5 different flavors, it all made me gag. I now use sport beans when I run longer that 11 miles.I like all the sport beans flavors. I drink G2 during all my run. For 8 miles or less I carry a 10oz bottle, for longer distances I carry a 22oz bottle. The longest I have gone with the 22 oz of G2 was 13 miles.
