What exercise will help?
I just joined a gym and have gone 2 times, both times I did the treadmill for 30 minutes and then finished the last 20-30 minutes with the weight machines. The first day I focused on my upper legs and my skin is getting loose around the top of my thighs and I wanted to see if building more muscle would help that out a bit. But my main concern it my mid section (apron?) I swear the rest of me has been getting smaller except for that one area so I want to know what exercises can I do to help that along. I go to Planet fitness so they have a couple of machines for torso but I think there's only like 2.
Feel Free to Add Me on FACEBOOK just search for my name Angela Cross or [email protected] Also if you could put you are from OH in the request it would help. Thanks :)

The body will lose the fat where and when it wants to. Nothing you can do to change that. Cardio is what really burns the calories and determines the fat loss. Strengthening is important also, but that's not the primary fat-burning component. I have always been big around the middle, and remain so now, but proportions tend to change and be a little 'off' if you will during weight loss. Once you stabilize, so will your proportions.
As far as the skin goes, only time will tell.

Actually, people with higher levels of muscle often have higher metabolisms and burn more calories at rest. That's one of the reasons weight training is recommended. You can realistically only do so much cardio, especially early out. Combine both forms of exercise for a balanced program.
That said, you CAN NOT spot reduce. Exercise can create the illusion by toning the underlying muscle. Skin may tighten somewhat depending on your previous fitness levels and amount but the only way to get rid of it is with plastics. Have someone show you some basic abdominal exercises like crunches but don't get discouraged when the "flab" still remains. I'm 4 years and 24o lbs out and can't stand the excess down there!
