Does anybody know of any legitimate "Work from Home" opportunities??
These jobs are few and far between but I've been really lucky. I have worked part-time for a local rural water district from home for the past 8 years and I have worked for a NY company for the past 2 years from home ( I live in Kansas). I was able to do both without any problems and they both knew of the other and were fine with the arrangement as long as I was able to get everything done. The NY company has gotten big enough that I now work out of an office in my community and supervise others and still do my water district job. This works for me now as my children are getting older and don't need daycare anymore. Plus, since I started early on with the NY company they give me lots of leaway in my time and stuff. I have also worked for at least 3 other companies during the last 8 years from home, but they were short-term positions, but they look good on a resume when you are trying to become an independent contractor. Try looking at www.guru.com. You can pick up some work there and it doesn't cost anything for the basic level. Good luck to everyone trying this and if you have any questions I'd be happy to answer them if I can.

I was getting my eyebrows waxed and was talking with the beautician. She said she did a 10 week course for $1600 and got her permit. She loves it. She works in a salon, but I know of beauticians that work at home instead, they just have a good client base. If you work for a large company right now, you might have a pool of co-workers than would appreciate your services and having them be a little cheaper than salon costs (like most do).
I also have a place where I get my dog bathed. She has a "wash room" in her house and that is where she works. She has a place for a few crates, a huge bath tub with a shower hose extension, and one of the tables you see at pet stores where she clips nails, trims hair, cleans ears, etc. She does a great job and has a large client base, long waiting list to get in. If that is something you would like, you get to work with animals all day instead of people! I know she loves it!

you might want to ask some 24-hr business offices usually they need someone to handle the phones after hrs. - they can just forward the calls to your home..i used to work for an emplyment agency that did that..

I know you aren't looking for sales, but I looove my job selling Home Interiors. It is a great company to work for and the more work you do, the more you make. I made a bundle at christmas time when I really needed it and then I slacked off a little while I was having surgery. I love being able to stay home with my daughter and make my own hours...etc. Let me know if it is anything you would ever consider and I could get you more information. If not, happy hunting
